Super Imaginary Code of Ethics

The code of ethics specific to each profession (doctor, psychologist, sophrologist, etc.) remains fully authoritative. The following will supplement it in case of any clauses not addressed. It is important here to distinguish the title of practitioner from that of therapist (with regard to current legislation).

1. Professional Confidentiality

1.1 Each practitioner of SUPER IMAGINAIRE (SI) is bound by professional confidentiality. They commit to respecting the privacy, confidentiality, and anonymity of the people who consult them. All SI practitioners, regardless of their original profession, fall under the law as soon as they support someone seeking care.

This duty of confidentiality also applies during meetings or exchanges on the internet (video calls, etc.). No personal data will be disclosed, and only information relevant to the therapeutic objective will be shared with other practitioners who are also bound by professional confidentiality.

1.2 In all cases, only the formal consent of the client/patient allows, within the framework of therapeutic follow-up, the sharing of information concerning them with other practitioners and/or psychotherapists.

1.3 Personal contact details collected as part of the therapeutic activity cannot be used and/or sold for advertising or marketing purposes, except with prior consent from the individuals concerned.

2. Competences and Limits

2.1 The SI practitioner commits to not exceeding their professional skills or the scope of action and care for which they have been trained. If they do not have the required skills to follow the person consulting them, they must refer them to another practitioner or therapist more competent in the field.

2.2 With the patient’s prior consent and within the framework of proper therapeutic follow-up, the practitioner may liaise with health professionals (psychiatrists, doctors, etc.) who are treating their patient.

2.3 If the situation requires it, good collaboration between the different service providers in the helping relationship and health professionals is essential. The SI practitioner commits not to suggest any changes in medication without prior consultation with the prescriber.

2.4 The practitioner or psychotherapist cannot decide to substitute SI follow-up for medical treatment, nor encourage their patient to do so. They inform the patient that SI follow-up is complementary.

3. Respect for the Person

3.1 Before beginning any support work, the SI practitioner must ensure the free consent of the person they will be working with.

3.2 The SI practitioner commits to maintaining neutrality towards the person consulting them, refusing any external pressure from a third party or institution seeking any advantage and/or asserting any authority, no matter how minimal.

3.3 The SI practitioner commits to refraining from any behavior outside the purely supportive or therapeutic framework with the person consulting them. They do not use their position for proselytism or influence over others.

3.4 The SI practitioner commits to respecting the philosophical, political, and religious beliefs of the persons in the exercise of their services.
